"My God and My Lord" Ps. 35:23 - Need OT version
by jonathan dough inwhen thomas said "my lord and my god," he used the exact words that david used at psalm 35:23 with reference to god, writing, "awake, be vigilant in my defense, in my cause, my god and my lord," (rsv, nab, kjv and green's literal translation).
"lord" here is translated from the hebrew adonai used exclusively of god.
thomas would never have used these same words when addressing the risen christ if he were just a man.

What religion do X-JWs belong to now?
by jonathan dough ini get the feeling many x-jws are floating about aimlessly and don't join christendom, still living with the jw indoctrinated belief that they are all the work of the devil.
does that make sense?
are they supposed to sit around in small groups in their living rooms reading scripture like ray franz recommended in crisis of conscience?

Resurrection date and parousia questions
by jonathan dough in1) do the jws still believe that the first resurrection of the 144,000 began in 1918 or did they change that?.
2) do they still believe that jesus is present, the parousia is upon us and that he 'returned' invisibly in 1914 or has that also changed?.

Can you prove that only 144,000 anointed JWs go to heaven?
by jonathan dough inone core jw teaching is the idea that only 144,000 go to heaven, which is wrong.
here is the first of many reasons why that teaching can't be sustained by scripture.
any other reasons you can think of?.

Temporary New Covenant limited to 144,000? Salvation outside NC?
by jonathan dough indoes anyone actually believe that the new covenant is temporary as the jws falsly teach and limited only to the 144,000?
that the non-annointed still "benefit" from it though are not parties to it?

Jesus as "Eternal" Father?
by jonathan dough inthe jws claim that jesus is the eternal father at isaiah 9:6. but if that's true, why do they dump him after the 1,000 years?
i thought jesus intercedes forever?.
not only do the jehovahs witnesses teach that jesus christ is a mere angel (reasoning, 218) but they discard him and his services as an intermediary and helper with respect to his role as propitiation, his sacrificial death.. since sin and death are to be completely removed from earths inhabitants, this also brings to an end the need for jesus serving as a helper with the father in the sense of providing propitiation for the sins of imperfect humans.
